PACER II: AMINE RECLAMATION

The Cimarron PACER II is a mobile Cleaning/Purifying unit for Amine Acid Gas Treating Systems which is environmentally safe and the most cost effective cleaning method. By circulating amine from acid gas treating systems through the PACER II, Cimarron is able to remove contaminants that cause amine to become less effective and add to costly maintenance procedures. ALL of this is done without stopping gas flow!

Cimarron's PACER II purifies amines by removing:

  • Chlorides
  • Glycol
  • Heat stable amine salts
  • Heavy hydrocarbons
  • Suspended solids and other contaminants

Advantages

Cimarron realizes that downtime in natural gas production is lost income for our customers. By using a side stream process, the PACER II is able to reclaim spent amine and clean acid gas treating systems without interfering with natural gas production. Amine acid gas treating system's will remain online while the PACER II cleans the system and purifies spent amine.

The PACER II utilizes the amine located in the acid gas treating system to remove contaminants that cause amine to become less effective and add to costly maintenance procedures. By properly maintaining acid gas treating systems, natural gas producers and transporters can more than recover their investment each year in:

  • Reduced amine foaming and subsequent losses
  • Reduced filter changes
  • Reduced fuel consumption
  • Reduced hazardous waste disposals by 90%

In addition to amine purification, Cimarron's PACER II is a preventative maintenance tool that allows natural gas producers to:

  • Increase efficiency
  • Increase equipment life
  • Reduce corrosion
  • Reduce maintenance costs
  • Reduce operational shutdowns

Additionally, the PACER II has been proven to be an effective tool in the removal of bicine and other corrosive by-products formed in amine systems.

Mobility

Cimarron has developed a unique, mobile process in which spent amine is purified by vacuum distillation in a closed system. Cimarron's PACER II can be taken to virtually any acid gas treatment site!

Cimarron's PACER II is ready to deploy anywhere in the Western United States. The portability of the PACER II allows our operators to move these mobile units quickly and easily to sites in Colorado, Kansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas, Utah, Wyoming and surrounding states.

The Bottom Line

Cimarron recognizes the high costs associated with the disposal of amine, a hazardous waste; and the high cost of virgin amine needed to recharge the system after conventional cleaning. Customers who have utilized the PACER II's unique capabilities know the time and money saved in maintenance procedures and costly shutdowns by far exceeds the cost of amine reclamation with the PACER II.
